Who Needs a UK ETA to Travel to the United Kingdom?

Who Must Apply for a UK ETA?

The UK ETA is mandatory for nationals of countries that currently enjoy visa-free access to the United Kingdom. If you are a citizen of one of the eligible countries listed below, you must obtain an approved ETA before travelling to the UK — even for short visits or airport transit.

Important: British citizens, Irish citizens, and those with valid UK visas or immigration status (such as settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme) do NOT need a UK ETA.
